do yourself a favor. it is a wide, wide selection of songs, most in the blues genre, but it gives him a chance to play a lot of different styles, and sing some great tunes. a superb album by a remarkable guitar player, who left us way too early. jeff takes the guitar and makes it his, and shreds through the songs with some outrageous solos, a band that is at one with him.
Not you typical Healey album I was disappointed with this album. Sounds rushed to put something together.
the first two blues covers on this album blew me away, the rest of the album is good considering it had to have a commercial element.
Thumbs up. This record displays the passion the man had for his music- raw and real. I love Jeff Healey. What a loss to us with his passing.
There's a lot of good ol' rollicking electric blues on this disc, including interesting interpretations of "Like a Hurricane" and "Shake Rattle and Roll," which I thoroughly enjoyed. This CD was a total impulse buy for me--I had never even heard of Jeff Healey before. I've already ordered another Jeff Healey CD online. Not every song is a winner, hence the 4 stars, but this is a solid electric blues disc, highly recommended. But I saw it in a separate display case in the store, it looked interesting, and I hadn't listened to any blues in a while, so I thought I'd give it a try. I am very glad I did.
